Exploring The Black Moon Lilith
To call Lilith the “Mother of Demons” is perhaps more applicable to the original meaning of daimon, rather than the modern-day Christian perspective of demon. She was, after all, the first to follow her own inner calling, as opposed to obeying what man asked of her. If a personal daimon is a divine entity attached to an individual, urging them in a certain direction, perhaps Lilith was the “Mother” of this concept in humanity. The first to follow an inner voice, as opposed to instructions from external sources.
THE QUINTESSENTIAL QUESTION
I think this Libra season pulls focus on our cycles and patterns, and asks us to reflect on ourselves, as seen through others. We’re being asked to be brutally honest with ourselves, to cut the BS, and see our very own quintessence. That is, what is our purest essence? How do we uniquely shine in this Earthly experience, and what are we being shown about this through our cycles?
AS SWEET AS IT GETS, AS DEEP AS IT GOES
Perhaps we are being shown as a society how disconnected we are, and the tools needed in order to repair. It’s like the Venus Cazimi in Libra shows us where we could be, and the solar eclipse in Scorpio shows us where we are.
THE POWER OF COMPASSIONATE ASSAYING
The first thing that comes to mind when we think of “Virgo” is usually the perfectionist, over-thinker, the stylish, and organized. This may all be true, however, I think the most prominent trait of Virgo (in my opinion) is overlooked.
SPIRITUAL ATTRITION
When we are confronted with a painful experience or hard truth, it often doesn’t cut deep enough to implement change the first time around. It seems to be an unspoken rule of three, at least speaking from my own experience, before we actually process the event enough to determine how to respond.
TO TRUST IN TRUSTING
Obviously, we all know what it means to “trust” something or someone, but what are the underlying secrets this word holds? I’m in the process of learning how to trust myself, and in order to do that I need to fully understand what that word means.
MOONS AND HANDS AND NASCENT PICTURES
The new moon in Cancer that happened on June 28th was a beautiful symbol of manifestation, new beginnings and rebirth. For some reason, hands feel like an appropriate connection? I’ve been thinking about them a lot recently, which encouraged me to look a little more deeply at their meaning. I’ll start by speaking on the new moon in Cancer, and what that represents.
THE SACRED IS ORDINARY
The summer solstice is marked by the sun moving into the sign of the divine feminine, Cancer. There’s something so sacred about that to me. The sun, this symbol of divine masculine on its longest day of the year, moves into the sign of its counterpart, Cancer, which is associated with the moon. It feels like a moment where the duality of the two cease to exist.
WHERE GRAVITAS MEETS CONVIVIALITY
I can’t write this week’s forecast without recommending a movie I saw recently that had an incredible impact on me, and also happens to be perfectly fitting for the astrology this week. Everything Everywhere All At Once is a must see; and this week my attitude is largely similar to the message of the film.
KNOWLEDGE IS A TOOL, NOT THE ANSWER
I don’t think I’m alone in saying that Mercury retrograde this time around felt pretty tangible. I’m not sure if the post eclipse shadow had an influence, or it was simply the fact that most of the retrograde happened in the sign of already chaotic Gemini, but either way it’s been an interesting few weeks, to say the least.
ADDLE-BRAINED DREAMING AND WISHFUL THINKING
I imagine this week is what being sucked into a black hole would feel like. Bear with me, I understand the physics of what I’m about to say doesn’t make sense, but until someone gets sucked into a black hole and comes back to tell the tale, I’ll use my imagination.
SHADOWS ARE CREATED BY THE SUN
My chart ruler is the sun, so I feel solar eclipses especially intensely. This is true for you, too, if you’re a Leo rising. If you’re a Cancer rising, it’s the same for you with lunar eclipses. To put it bluntly; eclipses don’t feel good.
WHEN LEARNING TO RIDE A BIKE
This week is full of too-good-to-be-true’s and blind faith, colored by cautious optimism and moving with aplomb. Or in simpler terms: your dreams are looking closer than ever before, walk confidently but keep your eyes open, do not rush or miss any details.
QUIXOTICALLY SOBER
Why argue that the glass is half empty or half full when you could just drink the water? In a world of smoke and mirrors it’s nearly impossible to find truth, let alone common ground (which I believe to be one and the same).
INTREPID AS A LITTLE KID
We are not truly controlled by fear or anything else, and our freedom exists when we are able to accept this. We each have the astounding ability to be our own authority.
NAVIGATING A STATE OF BEDLAM
While this week may feel chaotic, try to embrace the chaos as a warm welcome into Aries season. Trust that the intensity is intentional and temporary.
AMBITION IS TOXIC
This begs the question: can ambition co-exist with gratitude? I believe it can, but our collective perspective of ambition needs some serious reworking.
CLEAN SLATE, AMELIORATE
If last week was venturing through a foggy wood, unsure of your exact steps and cautiously navigating your way about, this week brings a gust of wind that clears the way.
FEELING A BIT MAUDLIN?
Let the Piscean magic flow through you and feel the healing powers of the water. It’s not often we get to feel a season so dramatically; dare to look inside and find what it wants to teach you.
