INTREPID AS A LITTLE KID

Word Of The Week

Intrepid

in·trep·id

adjective

fearless; adventurous

This is going to be graphic, so reader discretion is advised, but you know how it feels when you finally throw up after hours of stomach pain and nausea? That relief, the gratitude, and the random burst of energy? The feeling behind the phrase “puke and rally”? You were absolutely finished, and after a very uncomfortable and unpleasant moment of vomiting up the remnants of your chaotic evening, you feel like a brand new human and ready to do it all over again. That’s what this week feels like…except this time when you throw up you’re not drunk anymore, you’re actually incredibly sober and level headed. Ok, before everyone feels sick I’ll get to the point. The focus this week is the new moon in Aries on Friday, immediately followed by a powerful Mercury cazimi. So put your shoes on, charge your phone, and queue up your favorite motivation playlist, because this train is not slowing down.

The new moon in Aries on Friday is timed perfectly with the start of the season. The weather is warmer, the trees have blossomed and moods are lighter. Aries is the first on the astrological calendar, symbolizing beginnings, action, independence, rebirth, individuality, and impulsivity. New moons represent new beginnings, a fresh start, and manifestation. Together, they provide the clarity and motivation needed to completely start over. Whatever it means to you, this is a time for intrepid manifestation and bold action. We’ve been in the limbo of transition between Pisces and Aries for a few weeks now. THIS is the official start of the next chapter; use the new moon to visualize what it looks like for you. What will you call this chapter in your book? With the mist of Pisces rapidly evaporating, what lessons are becoming clear, and possibly laying the foundation for the castle you’re building? The sun is out and shining on your desires, ask yourself what is stopping you from receiving. Too often we unconsciously allow external influences to act as our authority. We allow our decisions to be controlled by fear; fear of judgment (from family or friends), the fear of losing someone, the fear of being alone, the fear of failure, or just a general fear of pain. Our brains use this fear to protect us, to keep us alive. It’s how we’ve evolved and survived as a species, but it isn’t designed to help us find joy. Our brain has no need for joy; in fact, it’s a liability because we associate joy with the inevitable suffering that follows. But we are not our brains, and we are not confined within the walls it tries to build. We are the conscious awareness of it all. The observer of our experience, not the product. We are not truly controlled by fear or anything else, and our freedom exists when we are able to accept this. We each have the astounding ability to be our own authority.

Meditate on this idea and find where fear holds you back. What does it feel like? Where is it located in your body? Speak to it, and be gentle, remembering that this kind of fear is typically developed in childhood. If you look close enough, you’ll find yourself as a child. Likely crying and afraid, they’re doing their best to keep you out of harm’s way. Somewhere along the way they were hurt and decided to make sure you never felt that way again, not realizing this is an impossible task. Pain is inevitable, and the more they tried to prevent it the more they hurt and the more they hurt the more frightened they became. This is okay. Comfort them, hug them, and thank them for all they have done to protect you. And let them rest! Relieve them of their burdens, let them let go of whatever it is they’ve been carrying all these years. Remind them of all the ways life is exciting, give them a chance to play again and nurture them the way they always needed. With Chiron joining the new moon, your inner child is standing at the door eagerly waiting for your return. Do something that you would love as a kid this week; go to an arcade, play with puppies, finger paint, find a swing-set, or play dress up. Let go of your fears, call back your own authority, and step into your power.

With the Mercury cazimi the next day, be ready for information and inspiration to flow, allowing tangible plans to form around the ideas from the night before. This is where you begin; take actual action toward your manifestations, no matter how small. Show that you are ready to step up to the plate, that you’re willing to do your part. You will be rewarded, of this I am confident. Venus, planet of love, values, beauty, romance and art enters exaltation in Pisces on Tuesday. To me, this looks like a period of receiving. Open your heart to the gifts that are waiting for you. Love deeply, find joy in serving others, broaden your capacity for empathy and let down your walls. There is so much strength in vulnerability. Scientifically speaking, time is relative and therefore not real, which means we are literally all just children running around in adult costumes and pretending to know what we’re doing. If we embrace this instead of fighting it, the possibilities are endless.

LOVE, JENNA
