WHEN LEARNING TO RIDE A BIKE

Word Of The Week

Aplomb

ə-ˈpläm

noun

self-confidence or assurance, especially when in a demanding situation.

Have you ever found a barely used designer piece at a yard sale for a fraction of the price it’s probably worth? Maybe $200 instead of the $1000 it would typically cost? Your heart starts to race just a little and your head spins with excitement at the pure luck you stumbled upon; meanwhile a voice in the back of your head warns you of scams and frauds. In that moment your knowledge of this particular designer brand is crucial. $200 is still a significant amount to spend, especially if the product ends up being a fake. If you’ve done your research and are prepared, this is a no-brainer decision. If your eye isn’t quite as trained, it may take a leap of faith to drop the cash. You either have to fully commit and accept that you could be buying a knock-off, or be ok with letting the opportunity pass you by. This week is full of too-good-to-be-true’s and blind faith, colored by cautious optimism and moving with aplomb. Or in simpler terms: your dreams are looking closer than ever before, walk confidently but keep your eyes open, do not rush or miss any details.

Neptune and Jupiter linger a while longer together in Pisces, like old friends catching up over drinks. They’re certainly in no hurry, and after over 200 years away from home, they’re eager to share the gifts they’ve been preparing for us all. That being said, it is Pisces and it is Jupiter and Neptune. What they offer is bound to be rich in reward but not without strings attached. They enjoy lessons, illusions, tests, and metaphors. Nothing about this is straightforward. That doesn’t mean the gifts they bring are not as marvelous as they appear, it just means they aren’t being delivered to you on a silver platter. Mercury in Taurus helps us stay grounded while the sun passing through Aries provides clarity and momentum. This combination is extremely effective in aiding us to commit to a direction. On April 14th, the lunar north node sextiles Jupiter and Neptune, giving us a major push in the right direction. It’s like when I learned to ride a bike. My dad had been holding onto the back of my seat for stability, but one day he secretly let go and watched with pride as I glided along my path independently and perfectly balanced, without a single idea that he’d let go. At first, it was scary to think of him ever letting go; what if I fell? The reality was, I did fall several times before I mastered the art of riding a bike. I still fall sometimes when I ride my bike. But the pain from falling was always temporary and the gift I received in return was a skill I’d be able to carry for the rest of my life. That’s what this week is offering us, if we are able to put aside our fears and trust in the process.

After we learn to ride a bike, April 16th brings the full moon in Libra. A full moon means it is opposite the sun, and together the sun and moon will be squaring Pluto (forming a 90º angle). Depending on where they sit in your chart, this could look a little different. There’s the possibility of intense shifts in relationships; endings, big fights, meeting someone extremely significant, even things like having sex for the first time could be a product of this transit. Another possible way this could manifest is extremely heightened emotions, a bit of a standstill between the powers that be, your goals, and your emotions, or a radical shift of perspective on a situation you’ve been struggling with for a while. This is like the aftermath of the dad letting the kid ride their bike independently; either the kid takes to it and soars along, confidently and effortlessly, or they panic, forget how to stop, and crash hard. Either way they will never be the same. The next day, April 17th, we get to decide what to do with our new-found gift of bike riding knowledge. The potential for manifestation is high– do you want to become a professional cyclist? Maybe ride your bike across the states? Finish a triathlon? Perhaps your only goal is to be able to casually ride around your neighborhood. Whatever the case, you now have the knowledge of riding a bike, as well as a direction in which you can utilize this knowledge. At the risk of this metaphor becoming too dense, I’ll move on.

On April 19th, the wounded warrior asteroid, Chiron, will exactly trine the moon, and the sun begins its sextile to Lilith. This is sure to arouse the depths of our emotions and the inner wounds we buried so deep we forgot existed. Be gentle to the monsters as they slip to the surface and bare their teeth– they only hurt us if we ignore them. At the end of the day they’re just our inner child wearing a scary costume and trying to act tough so they don’t get hurt. With patience and compassion, we can nurture ourselves enough to break free of the fear and embrace vulnerability as our greatest strength.

Basically, this week we get to learn to ride a bike and then decide exactly what to do with that information, embrace a massive shift into more growth with the people we love, and then remind our inner child we are worthy of the gifts we are being given. You have the necessary knowledge to move ahead. You need only to find the pace that works best for you and ride

LOVE, JENNA
